Dr. Lesley Leach, Co-owner & Medical Director

Dr. Lesley Leach is the co-owner and medical director at 5280 Veterinary Care. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University in 2006. Prior to attending veterinary school, she obtained a bachelor’s degree in Zoology and Biology from the University of Wyoming. Dr. Leach has professional interest in radiology.

Originally, Dr. Leach practiced in Northern Colorado before joining the team at Indian Tree Animal Hospital in Arvada. In 2016, she became co-owner of Indian Tree. Together with the award-winning veterinary team at Indian Tree, Dr. Leach and her fellow staff expanded and opened 5280 Veterinary Care as a second location near Denver’s River North Art District, in the heart of the historical Whittier neighborhood. Her favorite part about working at 5280 Veterinary Care is the close-knit family feel between hospital staff and clients alike.

Dr. Leach likes to spend her free time doing yoga, running, traveling, and taking photography. Her favorite cuisines include wine, cheese, and artisan bread, and she always jumps at the opportunity to dine at Cochino Taco and Blue Sushi Sake Grill. Dr. Leach shares her home with Jeeves, a black DSH cat who she describes as a bit of a vampire who loves to give love nibbles. Her first furbaby was a fiery orange tabby named Cleitus, and Devon Rex is her favorite breed of cat.

Dr. Anjuli Hein, Co-owner & DVM

Dr. Anjuli Hein is the co-owner of 5280 Veterinary Care. She graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder with a degree in Biology, and then continued on to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree at Colorado State University in 2007. She specializes in acupuncture, and has professional interests in dentistry, soft-tissue surgery, senior pet care, and client education.

Dr. Hein was born and raised on a ranch in Kremmling, a small town in Northwestern Colorado, and she grew up working for her local veterinarian. After earning her veterinary degree, Dr. Hein worked at a mixed-animal practice in Salida, CO before joining the team at Indian Tree Animal Hospital in Arvada in 2008. She became a co-owner of Indian Tree in 2016, and is proud to open 5280 as a second hospital location near Denver’s River North Art District, in the heart of the historical Whittier neighborhood. Dr. Hein expresses that her clients and fellow staff make 5280 an amazing place to practice veterinary medicine.

Outside of being a passionate veterinarian, Dr. Hein enjoys reading, bike riding, skiing, hiking, and traveling. Her favorite food is seafood, and she also loves the Mexican cuisine at Lola. She shares a home with her husband, two small children, and two dogs: Olive, a golden retriever, and Mosley, a boxer. Her first pet was a quarter horse named Lady.

Chase Marr, DVM

Dr. Chase Marr is an associate veterinarian at 5280 Veterinary Care. He received a bachelor’s degree in animal science from Kansas State University, earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University on the Caribbean Island of St. Kitts in 2015, and completed his clinical training at Purdue University. In addition, Dr. Marr worked in the veterinary field through high school and college, gaining valuable first-hand experience as a veterinary assistant. He has professional interests in internal medicine, neurology, and rehabilitation, and plans to get certified in rehabilitation in the near future.

Dr. Marr was born and raised in a small rural town with only 46 residents in southeast Kansas. He dreamt of living in Colorado, and after graduating from veterinary school, he made his dream a reality. Dr. Marr currently lives in Westminister, CO with his husband, Richard. He couldn’t be more excited to open a brand new, state-of-the-art facility near the River North Art District neighborhood.

Dr. Marr has a zeal for adventure, and often takes random and sporadic trips all over the United States. He also loves to ski, is a bit of a foodie, and his favorite movie, fittingly, is Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. At home, Dr. Marr has five dogs: Moe, a bulldog, Porthos, a Bernese Mountain Dog, Javier, a terrier mix, Sadie, a pitbull mix, and Figg, a Jack Russell mix. Amazingly, Sadie was born deaf and now knows sign language!

Celene Joza, DVM

Originally from southern California, Dr. Celene Joza obtained a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. She earned her Doctor Veterinary Medicine degree from St. George’s University in Grenada, and completed her clinical training at the University of Georgia.

Dr. Joza has been with 5280 Veterinary Care since the practice opened in May 2018. She has also practiced high-quality veterinary care at our sister-location in Arvada, Indian Tree Animal Hospital, since February 2018. Dr. Joza has professional interests in geriatric medicine, nutrition, dermatology, and client education.

Outside of the hospital environment, Dr. Joza likes to spend her time hiking and camping. She is also a lover of burgers, all things BBQ, and the movie Steel Magnolias. While studying in Grenada, Dr. Joza adopted a pot hound named Dodgy, and she also has a black lab named Lapis and a Mini Rex Rabbit named Sadie.

Amanda "AJ" Jahn, Office Manager

Amanda ‘AJ’ Jahn is the office manager at 5280 Veterinary Care. She attended Colorado State University to earn her bachelor’s degree in biology, and even spent one semester in Australia learning Marine Sciences. Apart from those few months, she has lived in the beautiful state of Colorado her entire life.

AJ has professional interests in staff development, client experience, and patient care. Above all, AJ is driven to ensure all clients have positive experiences and all pets receive the outstanding veterinary care they need to be happy and healthy. She loves working with the amazing doctors and staff at 5280 and interacting with all of the incredible clients and adorable pets. AJ loves all breeds, but the breed that touches her heart the most is the Doberman Pinscher.

AJ enjoys reading, hiking, traveling, and cooking. Her favorite foods are raw fruits and vegetables, delicious vegan food, and Asian grub. She shares a home with her fiancé, David, and their pets. She has three parakeets named Niji, Tranquility, and Casper, a Chiweenie named Tater Tot and a collie mix named Rigby.

Tracy Richards, Technician Supervisor

Tracy Richards is the technician supervisor at 5280 Veterinary Care. She has two associates degrees and is currently working towards obtaining a bachelor’s degree. Some of her favorite parts of her job are educating clients and giving the pet patients loving care, and she is rewarded by the special opportunity to build a veterinary practice from the ground up.

Tracy has lived in the Denver area since she was a child. Her first pet was a mutt named Shadow, and she currently has a feline friend named Tiger. In her free time, Tracy likes to hike, read, and spend time with her two sons.

Amber Lory, Certified Veterinary Technician

Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Amber moved to Denver in 2004 and earned an Associate in Applied Science degree in Veterinary Technology from Bel-Rea Institute. She is currently a Certified Veterinary Technician at 5280 Veterinary Care. While living in California, Amber earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts from San Francisco State.

Amber likes to support local arts, repurpose vintage fashions, and she is proud to be part of Denver’s only all-female car club, the Blacktop Vixens. At home, Amber has a teenage son, along with a 15-year-old Chihuahua named Bit, and three black cats: Jesus, Morgana, and a male named Sue. Amber is a lover of all breeds, but black cats hold a special place in her heart, and she is also fond of Chihuahuas and Pitbulls.

Morgan Curtsinger, Technician

Morgan Curtsinger has worked in the veterinary field since high school and has a natural drive to help animals. She is currently a Veterinary Technician at 5280 Veterinary Care, and received training at Colorado Academy of Veterinary Technology.

In her free time, Morgan enjoys hiking, horseback riding, and eventing (horse jumping). She is happily married and has a horse named Skippy. Hound is her favorite dog breed, and her first pet was a blue tick hound named Wrangle.

Alyssa Milstein, Technician

Alyssa Milstein is a Veterinary Technician native to the north shore of Massachusetts. She earned an associate degree in Veterinary Technology from Mount Ida College before moving to Colorado in recent years. She loves seeing all of the cute patients at 5280 Veterinary Care, and has a soft spot for Pit bulls and Chihuahuas.

Alyssa has owned a menagerie of pets in the past, from cats and dogs to gerbils, a turtle, a snake, and a rat. Back home in Massachusetts, she has an all black German Shepherd, Ebony. Here in Colorado, she has two grey and white sister kitties, Rose and Pearl. In her free time, she likes to explore new places, ski, go to music events, try new foods, and spend time with family and friends.

Kathleen Mueller, Technician

Kathleen Mueller is a technician at both Indian Tree Animal Hospital & 5280 Veterinary Care who earned an Associate in Applied Science degree in Veterinary Technology from Bel-Rea Institute. She finds fulfillment in helping keep pets happy and healthy, and is proud to be a part of the 5280 family.

Originally from Ohio, Kathleen is happy to be a Denver resident. Kathleen likes to go to the mountains, hike, and snowboard in her spare time. Her favorite feline breed is the Ragamuffin, and she currently has a black and white DSH kitten at home, Girlie.

Meg Linsenbigler, Client Care Representative

Meg Linsenbigler grew up in Connecticut and moved to the Denver area in 2017. She is currently a Client Care Representative at 5280 Veterinary Care, and is excited to bring new services to an area that will hopefully be convenient for the local community as well as provide high-quality, dependable care for Denver’s amazing pets. Presently, she is working towards a Veterinary Assistant role.

Meg holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resources from the University of Connecticut, as well as a post-graduate certificate in Wildlife Conservation in Practice from University of the West of England. She volunteers her time at the Wild Animal Sanctuary, alternating between animal care and education. Meg also enjoys hiking, traveling, writing, and attending professional sporting events.

Vanessa Williams, Client Care Representative

Vanessa Williams is a Client Care Representative at 5280 Veterinary Care. She is proud to be part of a hospital team that goes the extra mile to ensure pets receive the best care and clients receive the best service. She moved to Colorado in 2017, and has explored and moved across the country since she was 18. She grew up in California, and has also lived in Texas, Louisiana, and New Jersey before finding her way to Colorado.

Vanessa enjoys traveling and hopes to slowly see the world. At home, she has a large pet family, consisting of a dog, two cats, a spider ball python, an albino ball python, a Brazilian blue and red pinktoe tarantula, and an assortment of freshwater and saltwater fish. Above all, Spaniel breeds have a special place in her heart.
